about this ramen: tantanmen is the japanese take on chinese dan dan noodles. it’s spicy, fresh, rich - a fiery sesame-soy-sauce smack in the chops. this year we serve it with our thin wavy noodle, which works great and is super-slurpable in this bowl. if you've tried our tantanmen kit before, this is the same style but updated, *again* - the same version we now serve in our restaurant. we're really proud of this one! if you enjoy it, keep an eye open for our shiru-nashi mazemen in the near future - a soup-less mixing tantanmen, particularly popular in hiroshima.

Great Ramen dishes, easy to put together because Matsudai have done all the hard work. With the little toppings etc, the dishes look like Japanese artistry. Ships on time, packed cleverly so it arrives chilled.
DO subscribe, the regular selection is great but the specials and collaborations that you learn about through the mails are an exciting adventure, we ‘jump on them’. It’s educational too! The ‘assembly instructions’ are on the web (saves paper) but once you’ve served a few you won’t need them, unless ordering something particularly ‘exotic’.

Delicious and easy

This was a dream to make and so so tasty. The only thing I’d say is we’d have loved a copy of the instructions with the package however we were able to find the instructions online.

Vegan meal from Matsudai

It had been a while since we had Matsuidai ramen. Then I found them again and it seemed only polite to try them again. Very tasty with the boost of an extra egg. As usual, it was a bit spicy for me yet Nigel had no complaints.

Absolutely delicious!

It was my first time using delivery kits from Matsudai Ramen and I was definitely not disappointed! The ingredients were so fresh and made the Ramen delicious. Delivery was very efficient and good updates. My one improvement was that it was quite hard to find the correct recipes- we couldn't find a vegan recipe for one of our kits so we followed the meat one and just added the vegan substitutes. Perhaps recipe cards could be included in the kit? I would definitely order from Matsudai ramen again!
