about this ramen: rich, deeply savoury, packed full of umami and spice, miso ramen was birthed by cold hokkaido winters. it’s supremely satisfying and one of our favourite styles. in this version, the complex spicy miso tare offers a fire-y mix of refinement and heartiness, the oat milk dashi, a little sweetness and body. no less delicious for being plant-based.

contents: rich kombu + shiitake dashi with oat milk + 4-miso tare; ginger + garlic aroma oil; thick, translucent, curly, slippery + slurpy sapporo-style noodles; tofu chashu; + menma. seasoned ajitama egg not included - add one here.

frozen, packed with ice. kits can soften in transit and that is fine - what matters is that they arrive cold. ice crystals still in the broth pack means straight in the freezer. more on how it arrives.

COOKING
ready in fifteen minutes. everything arrives frozen and sealed. add onions and extra toppings, if you like.

thaw the toppings under the cold tap. broth pack into boiling water for 10 minutes, chashu in for the last 2. noodles as instructed. build. full instructions.

Most delicious broth

Miso broth is delicious ! We’ve had this a few times now and don’t really like the sapporo-style noodles. Would much prefer the thinner hakata noodles - maybe a choice could be offered?

Vegan ramen

Great tofu with complimentary stock. The noodles are soft and delicious. I also enjoyed the one off celeriac version very much. Both these are great with the egg.

I have no idea

sadly NONE of the two sets of people I sent them to got back to me saying they liked them. It would help if, when buying for others, you can include "Gift from..." to the box. when I then pointed out I had sent them the kits.. it went quiet. I am dreading it?! :-( they might not have liked their presents.... I only ever ate at your restaurant, I'm a friend of Ani, Gwenno's sister, and the food was delicious hence it's my "to go" present now. third set of people have the gift card and haven't ordered yet....

Ah mate, this stuff is sooo good!

I'm vegetarian, not vegan (so I didn't feel bad about having the Ajitami Egg too, and that's pretty delicious as well). My other half eats meat, and had the Sunset Ramen. Both of us agreed that this was the best food we'd ever eaten at home.

The only thing I would say: don't think you'll fit this into a regular bowl. There is a *lot* of food, and it's so good that you won't want to throw any away. Invest in a proper ramen bowl or 2, as you're definitely going to want to revisit Matsudai.

I don’t normally get the vegan ramen from Matsudai, but thought I’d give it a try. I couldn’t believe how tasty the broth was, real depth of flavour. Would 100% reccomend and get again
