about this ramen: holy heck this is good! one morning in autumn 2022 i woke up with a weird instinct to try and recreate the ramen from the famous anime naruto, and this was the outcome. rich tonkotsu soup cut with niboshi-katsuobushi dashi. miso tare and garlic-ginger aroma oil. a thick, large portion of noodles. 😋 plenty of toppings...

contents: rich tonkotsu (pork bone soup) + seafood soup; miso tare; garlic + negi lard + house rayu chilli oil; a large portion of handmade thick, curly, chewy yellow noodles; braised pork belly chashu; seasoned menma; narutomaki; nori. seasoned ajitama egg not included - add one here.

These kids it's are incredible and absolutely worth it !

Delicious, we have tried tonkatsu ramen from many other restaurants but outside of Tokyo this is the best we have found. Heaven in a bowl.

Great flavour but got too salty the more I ate, not sure which part the salt came from. I added everything in the kit, should I have left out some of the fat?

Deeply savoury

This ramen is far from subtle: the combination of rich Tonkotsu, funky salinity from the Gyokai, umami miso, and warming chilli deliver a powerful, unapologetic and deeply savoury flavour that may prove too much for more delicate palates. Don’t expect it too be like a hug from your grandma… unless you’re grandma knows Jujutsu!

Contacted store told my order didn't exist.

Then asked for a refund. Told that wasn't possible either as it was being made despite the order not existing.

Everyone I spoke to was rude and unhelpful at best.

Very nice but very expensive

While I really enjoyed the ramen and the kit was put together very well with the cooking being easy and intuitive, I have a couple of issues with it.
When I received my packages the extra eggs that I ordered had been crushed and their box with the marinade had leaked over the bags quite a bit, which was a pain to tidy up.
Secondarily, while I liked the ramen, I believe the price tag is a bit too high to consider ordering again. For the £13-15 I am spending I could easily order myself an Uber eats from a local restaurant to arrive without any preparation needed.
All in all though good quality product and tasty, which is the most important thing.

My partner's first ramen from Matsudai and it didnt disappoint! Said it was the best she'd had in the UK and rivaled some of the best we'd had in Japan.

Honestly the most authentic delicious and warming bowl of joy true masterpiece

Never received my order!

My order never arrived, the tracking number wasn’t recognised so I couldn’t find out what happened to my £60 worth of noodles! We were really looking forward to trying them too after the reviews so I thought I’d treat us to a special meal. I’ve emailed the restaurant and I’m still waiting for a reply 😞

Instructions are fool proof, ingredients are top quality and everything is very authentic. Highly recommend the egg too - so soft and yummy! Will definitely order again!
