matsudai ramen is looking for the right person to join our restaurant team
We're seeking someone with drive and commitment to join the kitchen team at our Grangetown restaurant. We have loads of fun looking after 100s of people each week at our 45-seat ramen shop with a busy open kitchen. You'll be working with a small, talented team and highly involved in making Matsudai Ramen a great place to be.

The main responsibilities of this role will include:
- Prepping and plating top quality food with precision and efficiency. An eye for aesthetics and detail is essential.
- Learning what makes incredible ramen and why
- Carrying out opening, closing and cleaning checklists to keep our kitchen clean and safe
- Giving great handovers and diligent prep lists for colleagues
- Supporting kitchen management with inventory management and due diligence records
- Contributing towards a collaborative and supportive kitchen with high standards
You'll need great taste, a willingness to learn (all the geeky precision of ramen) and enthusiasm for what we do at Matsudai. You'll be a great communicator and collaborator and thrive in a fast-paced kitchen. Some kitchen experience is essential, but attitude and aptitude are just as important as your CV. You'll need to be 18 or older to fulfil this role.
Working week: We'd love to hear from people interested in full time or part time hours. Our kitchen is currently open Wednesday - Saturday 5pm-9pm, plus 12pm-3pm for lunch on Saturdays. Tuesday is a prep and cleaning day. Sunday and Mondays are our usual days off but this can vary for bank holidays or special events. We pride ourselves on offering our team great work / life balance.
Renumeration: Our staff earn a starting base rate of £12.71 / hour plus healthy tips via our Tronc system. For example, average Tronc over the last 6 months has been £3.67 / hour, meaning total hourly earnings have started from £16.38.
