I had the Tonkatsu Gyokai Miso Ramen. The portion size was very good, the ramen was very tasty and rich in flavours broths.Very delicious would order again.
Tonkotsu was my original introduction to Matsudai and I've repeated the experience several times. I had to look up on the web what Tonkotsu was because the stock is so madly rich and thick, clearly simmered overnight, at least. This, I guess, is classically a winter ramen dish, due to the richness and the way it warms you through, but we've also eaten it on summer evenings. it comes with a couple of slices of pork belly chashu, and the requisite toppings to make it into a completely satisfying meal.
Delicious and seasonal, perfect Christmas Eve Eve meal. We added some uncooked spinach when serving up and it was perfect.
Smells like boxing day turkey soup mum used to make. Confit leg is crispy, sous vide breast is tender, pickled cranberries a wow! The crisp shallots add stuffing aroma. Wobbly noodles are perfect. Generous portions! It makes me appear to be a kitchen genius without any effort. The best of the best; Matsudai have scaled new heights! The only bad thing is it’s a Christmas special so will soon be gone. Please bring it back for Easter!
Beautiful deep flavoured broth, fantastic quality toppings and very easy to assemble.
I chopped the fresh ingredients real fine and added extra tofu chunks. Smooth broth coated the noodles and tofu like a silk scarf, translucent and tasteful.
I can mix it up a bit, or a lot, and as variety is the spice etc., the variations of a bit of this, and a pinch of that, means more nuance, more subtlety, or more in your face. I can ba a surprise!
The kit was sensational. You could taste the care put in preparing the ingredients, especially the incredible broth. The richness was incomparable. I’ve had plenty of ramen but this was really special. The garnishes provided create a restaurant quality look as well as delicious flavour. Recommendation: don’t skip the extra egg.
